Eurasian jay

Garrulus glandarius

It is part of the crows family. It totally belongs in the forest. It is very showy and recognizable by the bluish feathers of its wings.

It is omnivorous, but it’s commonly known as the forest gardener, because it feeds on seeds, such as acorns, that it buries as a pantry and often end up germinating.

Its  harsh, noisy cry of alarm makes him a good guardian in the woods.
