Great tit

Parus major

Forest bird, abundant in the Mediterranean pine forests. It has a black head and a yellow color dominating in its inferior parts. The black central strip of the chest stands out, more outstanding in the males.

It is easy to spot on the branches of trees and visiting dining rooms and nest boxes. It makes a very characteristic sound that seems to be saying in Catalan “tot-estiu, tot-estiu”, which means “all-summer, all-summer“.
